Georgi Mathews, founder and owner of eLaps, started swimming when she was four years old. She made her way through Texas summer league, club, and high school swimming in her youth, going on to compete collegiately at Swarthmore College. She swam her first 500-yard freestyle at age eleven.
As a distance swimmer, Georgi always wanted to improve counting technology to match advancements made with timing systems. Hence, eLaps was born! During both her undergraduate and graduate studies, Georgi has designed and implemented the Automated Underwater Lap Counting System (AULCS) in order to support technological development for the broad swim community.

Using our software, coaches can enter set details like distance, rounds, and swimmers per lane, and the AULCS will display corresponding lap numbers, including a red screen for stop. Automatic feedback keeps athletes engaged, reducing miscounts and increasing focus on technique and effort.
